About me

Hi!   I’m Louise.

COVID-19 UPDATE : I am currently offering telephone sessions only. I have a few sessions available and am offering reduced rates for key workers and people affected by the illness and/or death of loved ones at this time of additional isolation. Contact me for a free initial consultation to see if I’m the right therapist for you.

Walking and face to face therapy will resume when it is deemed socially responsible and safe to do so again.

I am a counsellor based mainly in Faversham although I offer both indoor and outdoor sessions in and around Canterbury, Faversham and Sheerness.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different counselling concepts and adapt our sessions to suit your needs and the issues you want to explore. I focus mostly on how you are experiencing life in the here and now. I provide a non-judgemental and confidential space for you to talk about your thoughts and feelings.

I work collaboratively with you – you are the expert in your life and in what works and doesn’t work for you. I bring a range of “tools” and an understanding of psychological theory to help explore any issues or changes you would like to make in your life. I see the counselling relationship as a very human one and approach my work with you from a place of authenticity and empathy.

I have an interest in outdoor counselling and offer a number of ways we can incorporate nature into our sessions; from using natural materials in creative work and exploring metaphors in our indoor sessions, to walking therapy or holding our sessions at the beach.

Providing a variety of methods for you to draw on to explore and express your thoughts and feelings is important to me, and I offer a range of creative techniques and exercises that can enhance the sessions. I welcome suggestions for adapting our work together and will aim to create and hold a therapeutic space in which you can thrive.
